Parents who decided to collect and store umbilical cord blood stem cells can make all the formalities on-line or in the SCB headquarters.
We advise fulfilling formalities at least one month before the due date.
SCB nOvum completes all the formalities in the hospital indicated by the parents, so the umbilical cord blood collection process goes smoothly.
You need to take the collection kit to the hospital where the delivery will take place and give it on to the midwife.
Please inform us by phone when the delivery will start – +48 800 804 204.
After childbirth, our trained and experienced employees will provide safe transport of the collection kit with umbilical cord blood from the hospital directly to the laboratory in SCB nOvum headquarters.
Please inform us by phone when the delivery will end – +48 800 804 204
In the SCB nOvum laboratory blood is being tested for future use. We test cell count and viability in collected material and we perform a microbiological test. We also test the mother’s venous blood drawn during the delivery. The last step is a preparation.
The deposit containing stem cells is frozen and put in cryostat, where it is stored in liquid nitrogen in the temperature of approximately -196°C. Approximately 3 weeks after childbirth, you will be informed about tests results by phone. Next, we will send you documentation including blood preparation protocols and deposit certificate which constitutes an official confirmation of stem cell storage in SCB nOvum. The certificate includes a unique SEC code, assigned to your deposit.
